Background
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Office of Transit Safety and Oversight (TSO) is responsible for hosting workshops to support transit industry compliance with requirements established in the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) regulation by July 20, 2020. The workshops are intended to educate, inform, and exchange information with transit agencies, States, and other entities responsible for fulfilling PTASP requirements. The attendee participation of these workshops will be comprised of FTA Headquarters and Regional staff, FTA contractors, and transit agency and State personnel and contractors.

Purpose of PTASP Workshop
The PTASP Workshop will focus on requirements needed for transit agencies to comply with the PTASP rule and provide Safety Management Systems strategies. Workshops will discuss creating Agency Safety Plans, including key stakeholders to coordinate Agency Safety Plan development. Compliance deadline is July 20, 2020.
